Since the world went back to work after Covid-19; the puppy market has cooled off. Long gone are the days of selling entire litters before they were born for every breeder. People in the high end markets of dog sports and competitions still campaigned their dogs in hunt tests, field trials, agility, scent work, rally and any other venue of interest throughout the pandemic. Some of those markets are still producing and selling puppies. Reputable breeders are producing fewer puppies because the market is in a lull at the moment. What is a reputable breeder you ask? Reputable breeders focus on health testing their breeding stock and challenging their dogs to do what the breeds were originally bred to do. However, with fewer puppies available; it has opened puppy buyers up to scammers. I was hired to find a dachshund puppy for a past puppy buyer. In one four hour period, I identified four scammers who were taking people's money without producing a puppy. People are so desperate to find a new furry family member they take unnecessary risks with their pocketbooks . While on my search for this dachshund puppy, I had scammers give me false addresses, use fake Facebook accounts, use fake phone numbers and pretend to be a veterinarians office. We have since found a reputable breeder of EE Cream Dachshund Puppies but it was quite the task. If I wasn't familiar with breeders, buyers, trainers and social media; my puppy buyer would have been taken for a deposit several times. This leaves puppy buyers to navigate fraud through their banks, the police and the platform they used to send money. Sometimes there is no recourse because scammers know how to take you for your money without being held accountable. This fiasco lead me to add this service to my graphic design service. Necessity is where the rubber hits the road. We can find you a puppy out of health tested parents that come from reputable breeders. I have connections in the dog world through breeders, trainers and AKC judges. Years of vetting breeders, trainers and being an admin for a few dog Facebook pages with heavy traffic have prepared us to find your next puppy without you getting scammed. We know what health testing should be done. We know what paperwork should be there. We know how to vet the paperwork so it's not "Fake News". Here is to finding your next furry friend in 2023. I started doing graphic design and online marketing in 2010 for a small business that I owned with my late husband. Back then, I didn't know web designers didn't write content. That only added to my frustration. Search Engine Optimization was not included in the price for my new website. My skill set was built out of frustration and necessity. Before long, I learn how to building my own website. I wrote my own content, I designed my own graphics, I did my own SEO and I produced my own videos for YouTube. Soon my knack for graphic design and online marketing paid off and we began to get customers from organic google searches. I was quite proud of myself.
